Her husband, pianist Bebo Valdés, helped shape her musical direction. She recorded albums like "Mayra Marti Canta a José Alfredo Jiménez" and "Homenaje a Celia Cruz," working in styles that included boleros and rancheras. Another of her songs is "Atormentada."
Marti performed internationally at venues including Carnegie Hall and the Olympia in Paris.
