Mayron do Vale came from São Luís, Maranhão, and started playing guitar and singing early on. He was listening to traditional Brazilian rhythms and punk rock, and eventually formed a band with bassist Fábio Nunes, drummer Marcos Oliveira, and guitarist Ricardo Silva. Their first album was called O Grito dos Oprimidos, and it came out in the mid-1990s with a raw sound that connected with people.
In 2002, he released the song Alienaçã, which became a kind of anthem for people who felt left out or angry about inequality. The lyrics were direct and critical, and the song got a lot of attention. He kept writing anyway, and another song people remember is Brasil Esporte Clube.
He stayed with that band lineup for a while, and his music kept that mix of Brazilian roots and rock energy. The songs were more about social commentary than personal stories, and they had a straightforward, unpolished quality that felt genuine to his listeners.
