M'bare formed in Bamako, Mali in 2005 around singer and songwriter Samba Diabaté. Their music pulls from Wassoulou traditions, Afrobeat, and blues, with Diabaté joined by Bouba Sacko on guitar, Lamine Soumano on bass, Cheick Hamalla on drums, and Idrissa Soumano on keyboards.
Their debut album "Anisete" came out in 2006, with the title track becoming a hit. They've since released albums like "Dunia" in 2009, "Foley" in 2013, and "Siguikan" in 2018. Other songs include "Através da Cortina" and "Navegar."
They've worked with artists like Manu Dibango, Cheick Tidiane Seck, and Vieux Farka Touré. In 2007, they won the RFI Discoveries Award.
