In 2006 they released "Vacas Magras," a song about poverty and hunger that became widely known in Brazil. The track's plain-spoken lyrics about social conditions connected with listeners beyond their immediate scene.
They put out a few more albums like "Poder Popular" in 2008 and "Favela Vive 3" in 2011. The group's music often dealt with life in marginalized communities, which sometimes drew criticism from parts of Brazilian society.
