Mc Dézinho, born Anderson da Silva, started out in Brazilian funk alongside his childhood friend Mc Guto. They worked together as the duo Anjos da Noite, putting out their first album in 1999. A few years later, in 2005, they found a wider audience with the album 'Diferente dos Demais'.
His music often dealt with life in the favelas, which sometimes drew criticism. In 2009, he was arrested on a drug possession charge. Through that period, he kept recording, releasing albums like 'Vida de Artista' and 'O Cacique do Funk'.
He's best known for the 2012 track 'Lema de Um Guerreiro', which became a major hit in Brazil. Other songs like 'Ta Podendo' and 'Tu Ta No Helipa' are also part of his catalog.
