MC D'La Yuri came out of Bogotá in the early 2000s, a rap group led by Yuri Bermudez. They worked with producer Edgar "El Jaguar" Cobos and built a following through local club shows before catching the attention of the Colombian label Discos Fuentes.
Their sound mixed rap with Colombian rhythms like cumbia and vallenato, and their lyrics often touched on food and everyday life. Their track "Master Chef" became a hit in Colombia, a playful song about cooking that showed their knack for catchy, relatable writing.
They released albums including "El Plato Fuerte" in 2002, "La Cocina" in 2004, and "El Menú del Día" in 2006. The group included Bermudez on vocals, Cobos on production, DJ Estylo, and backing vocalist La Negra Grande de Colombia.
