MC Don formed in 2000 in Rio de Janeiro, with Valdir Sant'Anna as lead singer. They started playing at local churches and community events. In 2004, their song "Deus Abençoou" became a hit after they signed with the gospel label MK Music.
Their music mixes Brazilian rhythms like samba and funk with gospel themes. Other songs include "Mexe o Bumbum" and "Banho de Mar 2." The band's lineup has included Anderson Felippe on bass, Wagner Silva on drums, and Emerson Pinheiro on guitar.
They've worked with other Brazilian gospel artists like Aline Barros and Fernandinho. MC Don kept releasing albums through at least 2012, with titles like "Vitória," "Tudo Novo," and "Além do Véu."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
