Mc Jeferson

Mc Jeferson came up in the Complexo do Alemão neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, where he started writing and performing funk carioca songs as a teenager. His lyrics often dealt with life in the favelas, which sometimes drew criticism along with the praise.

In 2018, his track 'Pique de Jogador I' caught on widely in Brazil. The song's straightforward melody and everyday scenes connected with listeners, and it spent time at the top of the charts. Other songs like 'Bum Bum No Chão' and 'O Lema É Ostentação' also became part of his set.

He kept recording after that initial hit, putting out albums including one called 'Original do F.' The music stayed grounded in the funk rhythms and neighborhood perspectives he started with, without smoothing over the rough edges.
