McKeymon & Gaber Mc were a Brazilian funk and rap duo from Rio de Janeiro. They formed in the late 1990s after meeting at a local funk ball, with McKeymon being Marcos VinÃcius da Silva and Gaber Mc being Gabriel Souza de Oliveira. Their music found an audience in Rio's favelas.
In 2007, they released "Vai Gata," which became a major hit in Brazil. The song's catchy rhythm and playful lyrics connected with listeners across the country.
McKeymon was shot and killed during a performance in Rio in 2011. The circumstances around his death were unclear. The duo's work, particularly "Vai Gata," remains part of Brazil's funk landscape from that period.
