MC Rudgi

MC Rudgi came up in Rio de Janeiro's favelas, where he started performing his own songs while working as a street vendor. His real name is Rodrigo Moura de Carvalho. In 2008, he released the single 'Fala Se Eu Não Pego,' which became an instant hit across Brazil. The song's explicit lyrics and catchy beat made it popular while also drawing criticism and legal challenges.

Rudgi's music often reflected life in marginalized communities, and he remained defiant about his approach despite facing lawsuits and a brief jail sentence for obscenity. Beyond that initial hit, he put out other songs like 'Fazer Falta' and 'Me Chama Pra Sentar.' He worked with artists like MC Marcinho and MC Biel, and performed with a band called the MC Rudgi Orchestra.
