Mc Titinho came up in Rio de Janeiro, specifically from the Morro da Providência favela. His music, often called funk, reflected the environment he knew. Early tracks like "Funk da Galoucura" and "Ela Não Quer Fazer Amor" connected with listeners in similar circumstances, though the directness of his lyrics about favela life drew criticism from some quarters.

He worked with a crew called Galoucura, which included DJ Guga on production and other vocalists like Nego Blue, MC Koringa, and MC Duda. Their sound was a collective effort, not just a solo project. The 2005 debut album that featured "Funk da Galoucura" helped establish his presence.

Other songs in his catalog, such as "Volta Pra Mim," "Linda Menina," and "O Som do Batidão," followed a similar vein.
