MC TooM formed in Lisbon during the 1990s, with Ricardo Campelo (Fogo) on lead vocals, Emanuel Mateus (Masta) handling production and DJ duties, and Mário Carvalho (Preto Show) as backup vocalist and dancer. Their debut album 'Enquanto Há Vida' came out in 1997, followed by 'Noite e Dia' in 1999.
Their third album in 2003 was titled 'Briga Boba', which also became the name of their most recognized song. The track gained attention for its social commentary, though the group's outspoken lyrics sometimes drew criticism from authorities and conservative circles.
After 'Briga Boba', MC TooM released two more albums: 'O Grande Ataque' in 2006 and 'Laboratório' in 2009. Their music maintained a focus on urban themes and political awareness throughout their active years in Portuguese hip-hop.
