Mc Xandinho is the stage name of Alessandro da Silva, a Brazilian funk artist who started as a DJ in the early 2000s. His track 'Bonde da Favela' became particularly well-known, connecting with listeners in Rio de Janeiro's favelas. The song's straightforward rhythms and direct lyrics gave it a local resonance that went beyond just the charts.

He worked with other funk figures like Mc Marcinho and Mc Guimê, and put out other tracks such as 'Sensação da Favela' and 'Mestre da Ostentação.' The music often dealt plainly with everyday life in those neighborhoods, which sometimes drew criticism from more conservative corners. Xandinho kept at it, with a rotating group of collaborators including vocalists like Mc Prego and Mc Maylon, and producers DJ 2k and DJ Xandy.
