The group's anonymity and lyrics about sexuality, social inequality, and violence sparked debate. Some critics argued their work exploited vulnerable communities, while others found it compelling. Their debut album was called 'Réu Primário,' followed by releases like 'Baile do Xlep' and 'Só Você Pode Mudar.'

Despite the controversies, Mc Xlep's music found an audience. Their identities remain secret, though names like MC Xina, MC Menor do Chapa, and MC Rick have been rumored as possible members. They've won awards including the Prêmio Multishow de Música Brasileira.
