MDJ

MDJ formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s as a group of young musicians drawn together by music and social concerns. Their first album in 2003 didn't get much attention, and they spent a few years working without much recognition.

Things changed with their 2007 album 'Olhe Tudo Ao Seu Redor.' The title track became a hit, bringing them a wider audience in Brazil. The song's lyrics, which urged listeners to pay attention to social issues around them, reflected the band's interest in writing about inequality and political problems.

MDJ is Juliana Salgado on vocals, Daniel Cabrera on guitar, Márcio Bonfim on bass, Joana Vicente on keyboards, and Marcos Matias on drums. They've put out several albums since 2007, including 'Realidade Paralela' in 2009 and 'O Mesmo Sol' in 2022.
