MDP

MDP formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s, with Vini, Mc Marechal, and Maquiny starting out playing in local clubs. Their sound pulled from funk, soul, and hip-hop, and they built a following with their raw energy. In 2008, they broke through with 'Banca de Elite,' a song that caught on for its social commentary and catchy melody.

That track became a mainstream hit, and they followed it with albums like 'Sintonia Nacional' in 2010 and 'A Lenda do Morro' in 2015. They worked with other Brazilian artists like Emicida and Negra Li. Vini handled lead vocals and writing, while Mc Marechal brought a rapper's perspective to the group.

Their music sometimes drew criticism for its subject matter, but they kept making records that reflected their surroundings. Songs like 'Die For Me' and 'Só Em Ti' show the range in their catalog, from harder-edged tracks to more melodic ones.
