Me and Myself formed in Brazil in the early 2000s with Danilo Moura on vocals, Fabio Almeida on guitar, Rodrigo Tavares on bass, and Bruno Cortes on drums. Their debut album 'Realidade' came out in 2003, followed by 'Palavras' in 2005 and 'Liberdade' in 2007.
Their song 'Realidade' from that first album drew attention for its portrayal of marginalized communities in Brazil. The band's lyrics sometimes addressed social issues, which led to both support and criticism from different quarters.
They released 'Tempo' in 2010 and a live acoustic album in 2013. At one point they canceled a show that was meant to support a political candidate, which created some backlash.
