Medule formed in Berlin in 2018 with Liv Solveig on vocals and various instruments, Geir Sundstol on guitar and production, and Helge Sten on drums. Their music pulls from darkwave and post-punk, with Solveig's voice floating over Sundstol's guitar lines and Sten's heavy percussion.
One of their early tracks, "Ravens," came out as an EP in 2019 and gives a good sense of their atmosphere. It's a moody piece that leans into themes of loss and nature without over-explaining them.
They've put out a few records since then, including the album "Chrysalis" in 2020 and another called "Ashes" in 2022. The work stays in that shadowy, textured lane, and they've brought in outside collaborators like producer John Fryer on occasion.
