MEDZ formed in Los Angeles around singer-songwriter Izzy Medrano and guitarist Alex Bianchi, who met in 2010. They were joined by bassist Kilian Dwyer and drummer Ryan Wilt. Their debut EP 'Dark Paradise' came out in 2015, followed by 'Lost in Translation,' which got them a spot at SXSW.
In 2018, they released 'Light (feat. TADEUSZ),' a collaboration with Swedish artist TADEUSZ that did well on alternative radio. They've also worked with other collaborators on tracks like 'This Time (feat. shXdow)' and 'Future Worlds (feat. Nytrix).'
In 2019, bassist Kilian Dwyer left the band due to creative differences.
