Meenuts formed in Malmö, Sweden in the early 2000s with Jens Lekman on vocals, Anders Werliin on guitar, Björn Olsson on bass, and Andreas Werliin on drums. They released their debut album 'The Key Is Not the Door' in 2004, followed by 'Life on Earth' in 2006 and 'The Last Dance' in 2013.
Their song 'Another Life' became their most recognized track. The band's music tended toward introspective lyrics and atmospheric arrangements, with their final album showing some movement toward more experimental and electronic elements.
In 2006, Lekman was arrested for alleged drug possession, an incident that drew attention to the band but didn't stop their work. They continued recording and performing until their final album in 2013.
