Meire Pavão

Meire Pavão grew up in the Amazon rainforest, absorbing the musical traditions of indigenous and caboclo communities. She began her solo career in the early 1990s, releasing her self-titled debut album in 1995. Her voice carries the textures of that environment, and her lyrics often reflect the region's rhythms and stories.

She has worked with Brazilian musicians like Milton Nascimento, Caetano Veloso, and Gilberto Gil, which brought elements of Brazilian jazz and bossa nova into her sound.
