Melanie Thornton was the lead vocalist for the German pop band La Bouche, which formed in the early 1990s. The group had hits like 'Sweet Dreams' and 'Be My Lover' that did well on European charts. After leaving the band in 1999, she started recording on her own. Her solo single 'Love How You Love Me' got some radio play in Germany and the UK.
She was born in South Carolina and moved to Germany in 1992, where she connected with producer Frank Farian. The La Bouche sound paired her singing with rapper Lane McCray. Some of her other solo tracks include 'Wonderful Dream' and 'Heartbeat'.
