A São Paulo band that kept going after their singer was paralyzed in 1997.
For a sense of their range, try 'Brazil' and 'Medo de Ser (Como os de Mais).' The first is their signature track, the second shows a different side.
Their song 'Brazil' from the 1993 debut 'Identidade' became widely known, but they weren't just a one-hit act. Tracks like 'Pifagem' carried political themes, and they kept releasing albums for over a decade after the shooting that changed everything. The 2013 release 'Abraço 20 Anos' marked twenty years since that first record.
They formed in the early 1990s around singer Marcelo Yuka. After Yuka was paralyzed in 1997, the band continued, putting out 'Olhos de Lula' the next year and several more albums through 2006.
