Melissa Horn

Melissa Horn was born in Gothenburg in 1988 and started writing songs early, picking up the guitar as a teenager. Her debut album 'Långa nätter' came out in 2009, with the single 'Långsamt genom stan' becoming something of a national favorite. She followed that with albums like 'Säkert' in 2011 and 'Jag saknar dig mindre nu' in 2013.

Her songs tend to be spare and direct, with titles like 'Jag Saknar Dig Mindre Och Mindre' and 'Hur Ska Det Gå?' giving a fair sense of her territory. She works as a solo artist but has recorded with other Swedish musicians including Lars Winnerbäck and Håkan Hellström.

In 2012 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to pause her work for a time. A few years later she chose not to attend the P3 Gold Awards, pointing to what she saw as a lack of diversity among the nominees. Her more recent albums include 'Innan frosten' from 2015 and 'Konst gjord av regn' from 2019.
