Mellowdrone

Mellowdrone started as The Willing in Seattle around 2002, with Jonatan Melero and Jimmy LaValle at the center. Their first album, 'The Peel Sessions,' came out in 2003 and set a tone of dreamy, introspective rock that drew comparisons to artists like Elliott Smith and My Bloody Valentine.

They followed with albums like 'The Glass Hour' in 2005 and 'Whirring Marvels and Delicate Nothings' in 2008, continuing to work with layered atmospherics and personal themes. Songs such as 'Four Leaf Clover' and 'Bone Marrow' reflect their blend of melodic drift and grounded songwriting.

LaValle's struggles with addiction and mental health affected the band's output at times, but they kept recording through the 2010s with releases like 'Orange Marmalade' and 'The Drunken Sufis.' The lineup shifted occasionally, with Altrice White joining on vocals later on, though Melero and LaValle remained the constants.
