Archive material and source history
Memi formed in 2015 around Milica Todorović, a university student in Belgrade. She brought together guitarist Marko Milojević, bassist Vukašin Vasić, and drummer Stefan Stojisavljević. Their first EP, 'In Between,' was recorded in a basement studio while they balanced music with part-time jobs.
In 2017, the band's single 'Bitter Heart' gained attention. The song's raw lyrics and Todorović's vocals helped land Memi a spot on NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series.
Their sound pulls from indie rock, alternative, and folk, built around Todorović's voice, Milojević's guitar work, and the rhythm section of Vasić and Stojisavljević.
