Mercy Trigger formed in 2005 with Scott Weiland on vocals, who had previously been in Stone Temple Pilots. Their debut album 'Bully!' came out the following year, featuring the single of the same name. The band included guitarist Wes Borland from Limp Bizkit, drummer Rick Prol, and bassist Chris Chaney.
Weiland left the group in 2009, and Borland and Prol went on to form Black Light Burns. Mercy Trigger reunited with Weiland in 2014 and released a second album called 'Merciless'. Weiland died in 2015 from an accidental overdose.
