Mestre Dilo

Mestre Dilo was a Brazilian musical collective formed in Brasília, led by singer and composer Márcio José, who went by the name Mestre Dilo. The group included Marco Sabiá on guitar, Maurício Brasil on bass, Ricardo Rabelo on percussion, and Dado Neri on drums. They worked with samba and sertanejo rhythms, though some listeners found their approach to blending styles unconventional.

Their 2002 album Braços Abertos featured the title track that became well-known. They followed it with Nação Mestiça in 2005 and Tempos de Guerra in 2009. Their lyrics sometimes addressed social and political topics, which drew attention alongside their music.
