Archive material and source history
Mestre Gordon came out of São Paulo's punk scene in the late 1970s, with Gordon Gano and bassist Fausto Fawcett. They faced some censorship and pushback from authorities who didn't like what they were saying.
Their first album came out in 1983, just called "Mestre Gordon." It captured that early, rebellious sound. They followed it with records like "Carne Crua" in 1985 and "Rigor Mortis" in 1988.
One of their best-known songs is "Corrida Para o Futuro," which appeared on the "Carne Crua" album. It became something of an anthem. Other tracks in their catalog include "H202," "Maravilhoso," and "Não Fique Triste Coma Alpiste."
