Meu Amigo Tigre

Meu Amigo Tigre formed in São Paulo around 2016 as a Brazilian electropop trio. The group includes Gabriel Aragão on vocals and keyboards, Igor Caracas on guitar and production, and Yuri Drummond on drums. They put out their self-titled debut album in 2017, which featured the track '404'.

That song '404' became something of an early signature for them, with its electronic textures and lyrics that touch on digital-age isolation. Other songs like 'Enquanto' and 'Paulo Baier' show up in their setlists too. They followed up with albums in 2019 and 2022, moving into more introspective and experimental territory over time.

There was some noise around a plagiarism claim involving '404' in 2018, but it didn't stick. The band kept working, and their sound has been described as pulling from electronic pop and more left-field influences, though they've mostly avoided big dramatic narratives in favor of letting the music speak.
