MG Hip Hop de Brumado formed in 2002 in Brumado, Bahia, with Dijay, B.Neguinho, and Cleiton Rasta as founding members. They started as a group of young artists using hip-hop to address social issues in their community.
Their 2004 album 'Filho Sem Pai' brought them wider attention, and songs like 'Gatinha Sexy' and 'Mulekes Na Atividades' became part of their catalog. Their lyrics often dealt directly with life in Brazilian favelas, which sometimes drew criticism for being too explicit or confrontational.
They kept releasing music through the 2000s, including the 2006 album 'Nosso Mundo É a Favela' and 2009's 'A Vida É Curta'. Their work stayed grounded in the realities of their region, even as it reached listeners across Brazil.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
