Mi Casa

Mi Casa formed in Johannesburg around 2008 as a trio: vocalist J'Something, guitarist and producer Mo-T, and bassist/keyboardist Dr. Duda. They started working together after J'Something and Mo-T met in a studio earlier that decade, sharing an interest in soulful house music and African rhythms.

Their debut album 'Mi Casa Music' came out in 2011 and included the single 'Mr. Loverman,' which became a hit. The song helped establish their sound, which mixes house with Afrobeat and R&B elements. Other tracks like 'Love Everything About You' and 'Obsessed' followed a similar pattern of melodic, groove-driven music.

They've continued recording and performing, working with artists like Yemi Alade on the song 'Get Through This.' The group maintains a focus on soulful, danceable tracks that pull from South African musical traditions without being confined to one genre.
