Micajham formed in 1998 as a trio of Brazilian musicians: siblings Jorge and Igor Aguiar, along with their cousin Lucas Santos. Their debut album came out in 2005, sharing its name with the ballad "Não me esqueça" that became a hit in Brazil.
Lucas Santos left the group in 2009, and Micajham continued as a duo. They released several more albums through the 2010s, including "Pra Você" in 2007 and "Só Pra Você" in 2010. Another of their popular songs is "A culpa é sua."
In 2015, the band faced plagiarism accusations regarding their song "Fico Assim Sem Você," which some critics said resembled an Eros Ramazzotti composition. Micajham denied the claims.
