Mice Möb formed in Cleveland in the late 1980s with a lineup that included Mike Patton on vocals, Andrew Broder and Jamie Saft on keyboards, Sam Bass on bass, Chris Vrenna on drums, and Chad Clark on guitar. They put out a handful of records in the early to mid-90s, including their self-titled debut in 1991, Hotel Foxtrot, Loveless, and the 1995 album Electric.

Their sound pulled from electronic and industrial textures, with synthesizers and samplers giving their work a restless, experimental edge. The track "Electric" became their most recognizable piece, a pulsing, unsettling song that drew criticism for its graphic lyrics and themes. Other songs like "Addicted" and "Hard To Breathe" carried a similar tense, claustrophobic energy.

They operated mostly in underground circles, and their work never really softened or aimed for the mainstream. After Under the Electric in 1997, their recorded output slowed, leaving behind a small, concentrated catalog of albums that feel specific to that mid-90s moment when industrial and electronic experimentation had a particular bite.
