Michael Malarkey

Michael Malarkey released his debut single 'Scars' in 2017, a song that caught attention with its direct approach to heartbreak and resilience. He grew up in Beirut, Lebanon, where he was exposed to different musical styles early on. At 18, he was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, which interrupted his music plans for a while.

His first album was called 'Graveyard Whistling,' and other songs like 'Graveracer' and 'Bloody Nose' show his preference for straightforward, personal writing. He has worked with other musicians including Ed Sheeran and Ben Howard, though he mainly performs on his own.

Malarkey's music doesn't stick to one genre, moving between rock, folk, and alternative sounds without much fuss. The songs feel lived-in rather than polished, with 'Dog Dream' and 'Do You Remember Yesterday?' keeping that same unadorned quality.
