Michele Melo

Michele Melo came up in the early 2000s with a sound that didn't quite fit the usual Brazilian pop molds. Her debut album 'Claramente Absurdo' arrived in 2002, anchored by the song 'Banho de Espuma' which became something of an anthem for listeners drawn to her more introspective approach.

Her music often worked with ethereal synths and acoustic guitar riffs, and she wrote lyrics that touched on subjects like sexuality and mental health at a time when those topics weren't common in mainstream Brazilian pop. Songs like 'Batom' and 'Eu te Amo' show her leaning into poetic, emotionally direct writing.

She recorded several albums after that debut, including 'Estrela,' 'Na Mira,' and 'Anjos & Demônios.' Along the way she collaborated with artists like Gilberto Gil, Marisa Monte, and Gal Costa, though she remained primarily a solo artist.
