Michèle Richard

Michèle Richard was born in Tunis in 1946. She had a breakthrough in 1966 with the song "Je ne sais pas," which helped establish her in French pop. Over the following decade, she released a series of hits including "Il est mort le soleil" and "La petite cantate." Her 1975 ballad "Qui a Gagné, Qui a Perdu," written by Serge Lama, became her most recognizable song. It topped charts in France and connected with listeners through its themes of love and loss. Richard's discography includes more than twenty studio albums, with notable releases like "La demoiselle d'Armentières" in 1972 and "Sur la même longueur d'ondes" in 1983. She worked with musicians such as drummer Jean-Pierre Bourtayre and keyboardist Jean-Claude Petit. While her career faced some challenges in the early 1980s, she continued performing and recording into the 1990s with albums like "Entre soleil et pluie."
