Mikecrack

Mikecrack is the musical project of Chilean YouTuber Miguel Velasco, who started releasing songs in 2019. His early single 'Arre Borriquito' found an audience online with its playful, child-friendly approach. The project's songs often have simple, catchy melodies and lyrics about everyday things, like the holiday tune 'Hoy Es Navidad' or the silly '¡Hoy Llueven Tacos!'.

Some of his other tracks include 'Sonrie Más Rap' and 'Movimiento Perruno', which keep to that upbeat, accessible style. In 2022, there was some discussion online about similarities between his song 'El Elixir' and another artist's work, though Mikecrack denied any copying. The project has put out a few albums, like the self-titled 'Mikecrack' in 2020, followed by 'El Amor Es' and 'Somos Uno'.

Miguel Velasco handles vocals and writing, and he's sometimes joined by his brother Tomás on drums and a friend, Juan Carlos Covacevich, on guitar. The music doesn't aim for complex production or deep themes, it's more about fun, singable tunes that connect with a younger, online audience. The songs are straightforward pop with some Latin rhythms mixed in, made to be shared and enjoyed without much fuss.
