Milionário e Robertinho

Milionário e Robertinho formed in Brasília in 1972, with José Alves dos Santos as Milionário and Robertinho Barroso as Robertinho. They worked in sertanejo music, a Brazilian country style, and put out their first album in 1977. That record included 'Fumaça no Ar,' which became a hit.

Their 1983 album gave them 'Cada Viola Que Se Cala,' one of their best-known songs. Other tracks like 'Esta Mulher' and 'Depois Que Eu Ganhei Na Loto' stayed in their setlists for years. They recorded steadily, with albums like 'Não Deixe o Samba Morrer' in 1986 and 'Volta Sereno' in 1992.

In 1984, their bassist died in a car accident while traveling with the group. They kept performing afterward. Later, their public support for Jair Bolsonaro drew some criticism from listeners.
