Milton Pires

Milton Pires is a Brazilian singer-songwriter who first gained attention in the 1970s as part of the band Os Incríveis. His time with the group included songs like "Eu Te Amo, Meu Brasil," but it was his 1977 solo release "O Andarilho" that became his defining work. That ballad about a wandering soul connected with listeners in a way that set him apart.

After "O Andarilho" took off, Pires continued recording on his own, putting out albums like Caminhos do Coração in 1980 and A Estrada in 1984. He worked with musicians including guitarist Celso Moreira, bassist Helio Delmiro, and drummer Paulo César. Later recordings like his 2000 album Milton Pires Autorretrato showed him still writing and performing decades after that initial breakthrough.
