Mima

Mima was a band that formed in the late 20th century. Their song 'Can We Do Better' became something of an anthem for social change, connecting with listeners who appreciated its direct approach to lyrics about justice and inequality.

Their music drew from folk, rock, and R&B, but it was the combination of Anya Rose's vocals, Ethan James on guitar, Emily Carter on bass, and Noah Smith on drums that gave the band its particular sound. Carter wrote many of their lyrics, which often dealt with social themes without much sugarcoating.

They weren't particularly interested in mainstream compromises, which meant they operated mostly outside that system. Another track, 'Mulher Preta,' shows the kind of material they were working with.
