Ministério Ar.Te.S formed in 1999 in Brasília, Brazil, coming together through the Assembly of God church there. The original lineup included Rangel Assis on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Marcelo Gentil on electric guitar, Rodrigo Dantas on bass, and Deco Rodrigues on drums. They released their self-titled debut album the following year.
Their 2003 album "Voz e Mãos" gave them their most recognizable song, though it also drew some criticism from more traditional corners of their religious community. They kept recording through the 2000s and into the 2010s, putting out albums like "Ao Deus da Vida," "Seja a Honra," and "Acústico."
