Archive material and source history
Ministério Novo Agir formed in Belo Horizonte, Brazil in 1984, led by pastor and vocalist Marcus Salles. They were a group of young musicians and pastors who wanted to use music to reach people. Their debut album 'Marcha Triunfal' came out in 1989.
Their song 'Aleluia, o Evangelho Vamos Proclamar' became particularly well-known. Their music mixed Brazilian rhythms with pop and rock sounds, with lyrics focused on faith and redemption. Another of their songs is 'Seduziste-me'.
In 2005, Salles faced accusations of sexual misconduct, which led to the band's activities being suspended for a time. The charges were eventually dismissed, but the situation affected the group's standing.
