Ministério Renovo

Ministério Renovo formed in 1988 around Gilberto Júnior and Mariene de Castro, two musicians who wanted to make gospel music that felt immediate and personal. They started with a small group, writing songs that spoke plainly about faith without much polish or production behind them.

Their 1995 album "Dupla Honra" gave them their most recognizable song, the title track that became a staple in Brazilian churches. That record also included "Te Servir" and "Ofertar Meu Coração," songs that worked with straightforward melodies and devotional lyrics. The music didn't try to reinvent gospel so much as deliver it with a direct, unadorned sincerity.

Over time, their catalog grew to include tracks like "Sonda-me" and "Chegou a Minha Vez," maintaining that consistent approach of writing for congregational singing rather than performance spectacle. The group kept recording and touring, building a following through persistence and a clear sense of purpose rather than dramatic reinvention.
