Ministério Renovo em Cristo

Ministério Renovo em Cristo formed in 1995 around vocalist Willian Nascimento and a group of young musicians. Their first album, 'Maravilhas do Amor,' came out in 1997 and found an audience with its direct approach to worship music.

Songs like 'Oceanos' and 'Ousado Amor' became staples in Brazilian churches, built on straightforward melodies and choruses meant for congregational singing. The group's sound incorporated some contemporary production touches that drew both listeners and occasional criticism from more traditional quarters.

They kept recording through the years, adding songs such as 'Tu És a Luz' and 'Além do Rio Azul' to their catalog. The music stayed focused on worship themes, avoiding much of the personal testimony style common in other Christian pop.
