Misanthropic Nihilist

Misanthropic Nihilist formed in 1993 with vocalist and guitarist Ygg, who had previously been in Mayhem, and drummer Nebiros. Their sound drew from black metal acts like Burzum, Darkthrone, and Celtic Frost, creating something primitive and unsettling. They released a few recordings in the mid-1990s, including the 1996 full-length 'Misanthropenführer' and the 1997 single 'Die Strafe'.

Their lyrics, which dealt with violence, anti-Semitism, and the eradication of humanity, drew criticism and sometimes led to protests and police intervention at their shows. The band's lineup shifted over time, with other members including Mord on guitar, Infernus on bass, and Magus on keyboards.

Tracks like 'Die Strafe' and 'Urgedanke' became central to their work, embodying their bleak outlook. Their output was limited, but those recordings left a distinct impression on certain corners of the black metal scene.
