Their self-titled song 'Missão Compaixão' became an anthem for them, and they released an album with the same name in 1989. Lead vocalist Eliane Silva, pianist Marcelo Dias, and guitarist Elmir Ribeiro were core members. They put out more albums in the 1990s, including 'Milagre da Vida' in 1992 and 'Deus de Promessas' in 1998. Their music drew some criticism over theological interpretations and their use of instruments, but they kept going with their approach.
