Mister U was a Portuguese pop band that formed in the late 1990s. The group included Anabela on vocals, Tiago on guitar, Vasco on bass, and Rui on drums. They had their breakthrough in 1999 with the single "Dá-me Um Xoxo," which became a major hit in Portugal.
Their debut album, also called "Dá-me Um Xoxo," came out that same year. Other songs like "Dia-a-dia" and "Sou o Mister U (betolife)" also found an audience. The band went on to release several more albums, including Fica Comigo in 2001 and Vem Dançar in 2003.
Mister U toured in Europe and developed a following beyond Portugal. Their music had a straightforward pop appeal that connected with listeners. They remained active through the mid-2000s, putting out a compilation called O Melhor de Mister U in 2005.
