Mobilla formed in Rio de Janeiro around musicians Marcelo Camelo and Rodrigo Amarante. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1997, followed by 'Mobilla 2' in 1999 and 'Homem' in 2001. The band's sound mixed samba with pop and electronic elements.
Their 2003 album 'O Manual do Mundo' included the song 'Seu Caminho,' which became widely known in Brazil. Another track, 'Perdeu Sua Vez,' also appears among their top songs. The band went on hiatus in 2005 but reunited in 2011.
Rodrigo Amarante left Mobilla in 2019, leaving Marcelo Camelo as the only original member. Camelo has continued with the band, releasing another self-titled album that same year. Current members include Fred Ferreira on drums, Rica Amabis on bass, and Nina Becker on vocals and percussion.
