Moderatto

Moderatto formed in 1999 in Acapulco, with members Bryan Amadeus, Mick Marcy, Roy Ochoa, and Xavi Moderatto. The band's name came from the Italian word for 'moderate,' though their music rarely followed that suggestion. They started playing around the coastal city's nightlife scene before things took off nationally.

Their 2003 single 'Vamos a la Playa' became a summer hit across Mexico, with its catchy melody and lighthearted lyrics about beach life. That song opened doors for them, and they followed it with tracks like 'Villa Coapa' and 'Sólo Quédate En Silencio,' the latter featuring Danna Paola. Their debut album was called 'Resurrexión.'

Moderatto's sound mixed pop melodies with hard rock guitars, and their approach sometimes drew criticism from more traditional rock listeners. They kept at it anyway, later working with artists like Aitana on 'Sálvame' and putting out songs such as 'Sentimettal.'
